Bio

Chris Caswell enters his fifth season as Head Softball Coach at Southern Maine Community College, bringing more than 20 years of coaching experience to the Seawolves program.

Since arriving at SMCC, Caswell has transformed the program into one of the premier softball programs in the USCAA. His teams have reached three consecutive USCAA National Tournaments, highlighted by a historic 2025 season in which the Seawolves finished 32-7 overall, posted a perfect 12-0 YSCC regular season record, captured the YSCC Championship, and claimed the program's first-ever USCAA National Championship. Caswell was named YSCC Coach of the Year following the championship campaign.

The success continued in 2026 as the Seawolves finished 27-11 overall and returned to the USCAA National Tournament as the No. 2 seed. Under Caswell's leadership, SMCC has consistently produced All-Americans, Academic All-Americans, All-Conference selections, and conference award winners while establishing itself as an annual championship contender.

Caswell believes the true measure of a program is not simply the number of wins it produces, but the growth of every student-athlete who wears the jersey. His coaching philosophy emphasizes player development, leadership, academic success, and preparing student-athletes for opportunities beyond SMCC. His teams are built on trust, discipline, relentless work ethic, and a commitment to competing for one another.

In addition to his coaching duties, Caswell is the owner of Mikini Custom Apparel, a branding and apparel company based in Sanford, Maine. He and his wife, Rose, have three daughters.

"Championships are earned through preparation, but lasting success is measured by the lives you impact."
